Happy anniversary—sort of

Last Thursday, I was delighted to participate in a special milestone—an anniversary of sorts.
I ate plenty of cakes and cookies during the holidays, but none for this particular event. The closest thing to candles that day was the Scentsy pot on my kitchen counter. Gifts were absent, too. Still, it was monumental. It happened in an instant, and then it was over.

Miss Daisy turned 100,000 (miles), which is a threshold many old gals never see. I’ve loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her, and I’m always happy when I’m driving Miss Daisy. She’s taught me that sometimes old is good. That elegance is timeless. That a few nicks and dings simply add to our character. And that even when one person tires of us, someone else appreciates our beauty. If all goes well, we’ll celebrate her 200,000-mile anniversary someday.
Like me, Miss Daisy looks better when she is “prettied up” and in a nice place. That’s not the case today. But there ya go. Life lessons learned from my car.
Happy anniversary, Miss Daisy!
