Family reunions

It’s been a real trip having my dad in the hospital because….*drumroll*….my mother-in-law is there, too!  Going up to sit with Pop every day means going to see MIL, too, and she is quite a character.  Wouldn’t you be if you’d raised 13 kids?  😯

Yes, husband is one of 13.  His poor mom is lucky to have survived all that they must have put her through over the years.  There are only 4 kids in my family, and that was enough!  Husband and I don’t have ANY…and that’s enough!  🙂

I mean, how does someone even give birth to 13 kids?  And where do you put them all?  And how in the world do you wash and dry that many diapers over the years?

Well, most of them turned out pretty darn good–though the jury is still out on a couple of them—so she must have done something right.  She’s a tough old thing, and so is my dad.  Must be that people of that generation are made from better “stock” than my generation…because something as simple as these family reunions at the hospital are wearing me out.

Yup, tough, hardy stock . . . for most of their lives unadulterated by fast food, antibiotic-laced chicken, or cell phones. 🙂
