Lost 2, found 1

Growing older isn’t all bad. It gives you a kind of wisdom about stuff.  Oh, sure. Sometimes you have to slap yourself up’side the head until the wisdom flows, but still…  That’s what happened to me today.

  • I didn’t feel good when I woke up so I was mad.
  • I missed a deadline so I was mad.
  • My printer wouldn’t work so I was mad.
  • I fried bacon for BLTs for supper and we didn’t have bread so I was mad.

That last one really got me. Yes, it’s been a grueling week of 12+ hour days and little sleep, but I found myself hurrying around trying to get ready for church—nearly bawling because we had no bread!  🙄

Suddenly I realized how silly I must look.  Bawling over bread?!  So I decided right then and there that instead of dwelling on all the things that went wrong today, I would dwell on all the things that went right today. And there were plenty.  And there is plenty of stuff that DIDN’T go wrong.

So I may have lost my sense of humor this week.  But thank God I didn’t lose my perspective.  Well, technically I did lose it, but I got it back!  Ummmmm, has anyone seen my sense of humor?  If only I’d used a damn Post-It note.  🙂
