Year of the Rat

If memory serves me correctly (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t), there is something in Chinese astrology about the Year of the Rat.  I’m not a follower of horoscopes, but I’m guessing this is the Year of the Rat.

One of my cats, a black male, has killed a rat every day for the past several months.  Now the other three cats are doing it, too!  For the three stragglers, I don’t think it as much about hunting skills as it just an abundance of rodents.  Even driving the dirt roads around here I often see rats running across the road in far greater numbers than other years.

I’ll be glad when the Year of the Rat is over so that I can quit cleaning up carcasses and gut piles around the house.  NOTHING could be worse than walking outside in the morning with a cup of coffee and finding “innards” on the porch just outside the door.  Then again…I wonder if there is a Year of the Snake…

Pretending to let it go...

The solution is to drop in once a week or so, just for a minute. 🙂

Hey, I remembered the other day that there was a time when I didn’t know you were from Oklahoma, and I thought okwriter meant so-so writer. LOL

🙂 @ Susan! And some days it is just so-so. But it pays the bills…so I’m grateful for the good days!
