Togetherness — sort of

Just when I slip yet another cog, husband slips a bigger one.

Tonight he was trying to find a particular basketball game on TV.  I’ve offered to teach him how to use the GUIDE button and the SEARCH button on the remote, but he says he doesn’t have room in his head for learning anything new.  🙄

So I get up from the computer in my office and go into the living room to use the remote and find the basketball game he is looking for.  I found it—it didn’t start until 8:00.  He insisted it should start at 7:00.

ME: Why did you think it started at 7:00?

HIM: Because Bob Jr. (local sportscaster) said it started at 8:00.

ME: Okay…so if he said 8:00, why did you think it started at 7:00?

HIM: Because they always use eastern time.

ME:  Ummm, local news and sports people give local times.  Why would they give eastern times?

HIM: Because they always do.

We went a few more rounds of “Why…” and “Because…” but you get the picture.  I was secretly glad we had that conversation.  The only comforting thing about getting old and crazy is having someone with you who is doing the same thing.  😕
