Road trip!!

I’m leaving today for a road trip.  More specifically, it’s a GIRLS TRIP!  😀

Sheryl and Karen and I used to get together every year and spend one weekend in October doing—well, girl stuff!  We’d fish day and night, cook (and eat!), do “Buttery Nipple” shots, shop for antiques, work on crafts…basically, whatever we wanted to do.

After a few years of doing the “weekend” thing, we ramped up to doing an entire week.  That was fun, too!  But then life happened, and we somehow got away from our tradition.

When the girls came for my mom’s funeral, we decided we needed to start getting together again once in awhile just to hang out.  Knowing it would be too busy during the holidays, we decided on January and picked a destination close to home: Cherokee Casino in Tulsa.

So today I’m packing my bags (and my coffee pot) and heading out.  I’ll leave husband at home to take care of himself—he’ll get to hog the remote and hog the bed and fall asleep in the recliner and ride the tractor around the yard and all kinds of other “guy stuff”  while I goof off.  Basically, it’s just another weekend.  😉

I’ll bet you’re having a great time! I’ll be spending today trying to get the “buttery nipple” image out of my head. 🙂
