Earth to Rita

I’ve been on a “booked a cruise” high for a few days, and now it’s time to buckle down and get back to work.

We girls are so excited… we’ll fly to Orlando on January 16 (Saturday) and set sail the next day for the Bahamas. We actually booked a penthouse! It’s one of those things that we didn’t have to do to enjoy our trip, but we went into it assuming we may never cruise again, so we want to do it right! Now we have to get about the business of working our butts off to have enough money saved to pay for it.

I guess I spent too much time thinking about the cruise yesterday and talking to one of the girls about gambling because last night, I dreamed I was in a casino that used great big tokens in the slot machines. In the dream, my mom walked over and handed me one of the tokens—except hers was pink and fan-shaped like a seashell. She said, “Here, use this one.”

I woke up…smiling. That’s the first time I’ve dreamed about her since she died.

Today is hard: bouncing back and forth between being really excited 😀 about the cruise and being really sad 😥 that Mom is gone.
