Husband morphed my dock

Well, we finally finished the dock today. Sort of. We still have to put a sealer on it and move the furniture down there and cut off the two very tall posts and install solar lights.  Well, so we aren’t finished.  🙄

One reason we’re behind is that husband morphed the dock into something else.  Not something else entirely—but he did come up with a design add-on.  On either side of the walkway, we added tin to hold the dirt on the slope so we could have flower beds there. (Kinda hard to see here, but the tin is the white stuff just under the dock.)   He’s always thinkin’ of something… He also wants to go buy some of those stone things for building a retaining wall—those will go on either “end” to hold the dirt in there.

Just after we finished the walkway this evening, he told me he wishes he had made the dock two levels instead of one flat surface. So now he is planning on how to do a step down (closer toward the water) and add a rounded dock.  That’s my husband…he’s always thinkin’ of something…

(NOTE: His thinking explains why we have a dozen or more planned projects that I doubt we’ll live long enough to ever do.  The only reason the dock got done is because we truly believe that sooner or later, it’s gonna rain!)  😀

I envision the two of you sitting on the dock, long fishing poles in your hands, perhaps chewing on a piece of hay. Or perhaps not. 🙂

Ooooohhhhh – I love Husband’s ‘thinking’! And I love the thought of having a flower garden around the dock. The boys and I planted our flowers this week during this oh-so-beautiful weather, and there is just something magical about being surrounded by all those colorful, gorgeous flowers. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

You two are so funny! And Miss Whitney, I hope the snow this weekend doesn’t hurt your flowers! It seemed like spring for awhile, didn’t it?
