Happy Anniversary, dear

June 30 marked our 10-year wedding anniversary. On June 30, 1999—after a long 12-year “trial run”— husband and I tied the knot.

We celebrated with a trip to OKC. It wasn’t terribly romantic, but it was fun!  On the way down there, I gave husband his gift: a cookbook full of cast iron recipes. He quit using his cast iron for years but has recently become interested in it again.

After a Friday night Redhawks baseball game, we walked around Bricktown and looked at motorcycles. There was a national Harley Davidson rally going on all weekend, and we were staying downtown at a Hampton Inn anyway.

On Saturday morning, we watched the “bike parade” through downtown, and then walked over to Bass Pro Shops. Husband bought me a .22 for our anniversary. 🙂

On our way home, we stopped at Lucky Star Casino north of El Reno. We had never been there before and only stayed about an hour. Even so, I left with $100 more in my pocket than what I arrived with, so I was happy!

I realized later that day that (1) I got a gun for our anniversary and (2) husband got a cookbook.  What’s wrong with that picture?  (Nothing, as far as I’m concerned!)  🙂
