Why I take naps

December 4, 2009 at 10:28 am Leave a comment

I woke up this morning just after 3:00 AM. I don’t always do that. But when I do, I usually can’t go back to sleep. Instead, I usually do just what I did this morning…lay there watching TV until 4:00, and then get up and make coffee.

Today, I started working at 5:00 AM. A couple of big jobs came in overnight, and—even with a sore behind from yesterday’s injections—I figured I may as well get a jump on them. Good thing, because by 9:00 this morning, I had already had FIVE phone calls. I was glad to talk to the people who called, but I was also glad I had quite a few hours of work under my belt as the calls trickled in.

Working from home is wonderful for me because I can work when I want—and nap when I want. And usually early morning get-ups call for mid-afternoon naps. So if you’re reading this on Friday, please don’t call me this afternoon. If you need something, just email me and I’ll get back with you when I wake up. 😉
