I remember when…

I remember as a kid when I cried about something, Mom or Dad would say, “You better shut that up or I’ll give you something to cry about!”

Perhaps I’ve whined a bit too much lately. Or maybe I just feel guilty that I’ve been complaining.  Either way, as I sat drinking coffee this morning—thankful that I could do so after a miserable couple of days with my head in a vice—I wondered if God had that same “parental” mindset when it came to my recent whines.

And if he DID think that way, and I DIDN’T stop whining (because I obviously didn’t find the Post It note), then maybe he DID give me something to whine about.

Okay, so maybe that’s stretching it a bit.  But that migraine sure put a lot of things in perspective.  At least for a few days…
