Merry Christmas Eve!

As I write this, it is actually still Christmas Eve.

This has been one of the most memorable Christmas Eve days I remember having in years.  (Maybe “memorable” isn’t the right word…since my memory doesn’t work that well…).  My niece Jenny got here last night from Tulsa, and she and I spent the entire day in the kitchen preparing a super meal for this afternoon.

We’re having a horrible storm in Oklahoma (“Blizzard 2009” according to the TV people), but we were able to stay inside all day. Because we built our house with a “great room,” the center of it is a big open area with the kitchen, dining, and living room all in one space.  We kept a roaring fire going in the fireplace all day, listened to country Christmas songs on Sirius, and cooked all day.

A darn nice way to spend Christmas Eve.
