My DOROTHY experiment

As a kid, I used to love watching The Wizard of Oz. As an adult, not so much…those flying monkeys are creepy.

If I remember right, though, to get back home to Aunt Em and Uncle Henry’s house, Dorothy put on the ruby red slippers. She clicked her heels and said repeatedly, “There’s no place like home.  There’s no place like home.”

It’s a wintry Friday morning in Oklahoma, and I have no ruby red slippers. But I do have a pair of red Croc knock-offs with faux fur lining. They don’t sparkle. In fact, they are downright ICKY and they stink.  But I thought they might get the job done…

I put them on, closed my eyes, clicked my heels together, and said repeatedly, “There’s no place like the Bahamas. There’s no place like the Bahamas.”

Sadly, my experiment failed.  I’m still here.  🙄  Perhaps if I was sporting braided pig tails and clutching a little yappy dog.  ??

Today: OPEN WIDE Okay, that was nice, but let’s move on…
