“Laugh In” and Menopause: the common factor

What could the comedy show ‘Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In’ from the late 1960s-early 1970s possibly have in common with menopause?

Arte Johnson used to do a skit on that show where he rode a tricycle.  After madly peddaling a random distance, he would just stop and fall over on his side. That same thing happened to me a few nights ago—without the tricycle.

I had worked all day and was helping husband weed the strawberry bed (that, in itself, was a miracle).  The phone rang, so I answered it and talked to sis for a few minutes. As we chatted, I worked my way into the cool house (ahhh, air conditioning!) and sat down on the sofa. The instant we hung up, it was like someone had pulled the plug on my energy reservoir.  I literally fell over sideways and laid there for about half an hour.  NOT sleeping…just laying with my eyes closed.

The entire event seems surreal now. It was like I lost all control of my body.  I literally had no choice but to fall over sideways and lay down.  I figure either (a) Arte invaded my body and enjoyed one last tricycle ride, or (b) I experienced yet another menopause symptom.

Am thinking your power/extension cord unplugged.
I agree with Karen. Take your body’s suggestion before it makes it an order. Am hearing the little musical sound effect—da, dah, dah, deh, deh, dah.
As long as you’re not looking like Ruth Buzzi with in her Gladys hairnet, you’re doing fine!
