“The Bible tells me so!”

I learned in Sunday School as a child that, ‘Yes, Jesus loves me!’ because, as the song says, “The Bible tells me so.” Well, that’s not all the Bible tells me…

In one of our bathrooms, I keep an old wooden magazine rack next to the toilet in case someone cares to read while they do their business.  Almost daily, I pick up our copy of the Cowboy New Testament like the ones we give away at Cowboy Church. It’s fun to open it up to a random page and read what’s there.

Yesterday morning, I read something that I already know, but it was somewhat shocking to see it on the page.  The first thing I read when I opened it—and remember, it’s totally random—was Psalms 37:25.

“I was young and now I am old.”  I know for a fact it’s true because (1) I feel it, and (2) the Bible tells me so!

I am thinking I don’t want a copy of THAT version, or at least not take my chances flipping through the pages…SAKES!

I happened to think of a bible verse when thinking about the baby bluebirds and heaven. It’s the one about God cares for the birds, and for us even more—but the point is, He cares for the little baby bluebirds and their mommy bird, too.

We discussed (again) at dinner tonight what could have happened with the mom. Heat? Never has bothered them before. Cats? We almost always find feathers…besides, it is too hot for the cats to do anything but lay around. Predator? Maybe. Guess we won’t know. *sigh*
